All Ya Gotta do is BELIEVE.
Can we make ourselves believe something we disbelieve? I contend that we cannot. The argument is quite easy to resolve. If you are male, for example, I challenge you to believe that you are Abraham Lincoln; if female, believe that you are his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. I’ll give you a few moments to focus your mind.

Assuming you are not suffering from insanity, you couldn’t do it could you?
And this leads me to the problem of I have with Jesus.
Any honest student of the bible will have to admit that Jesus threatens to send us to hell if we reject him. (See John 14:6) I have been gleefully reminded of this by my own family. So Jesus is threatening to send me to hell for the sin of not being able to force myself to believe something I disbelieve.
I’m not alone.
At this writing there are some 7.2 billion people on this earth of which only 33.35% are Christian, evenly divided between Catholics at 16.83% and 16.52% protestant.
66.65% of us (4.80 billion) completely reject Jesus as our personal savior.
According to the CIA Fact Book, (as of July 2012) the death rate is 7.99 deaths per1,000 population, resulting in 107 deaths per minute or 6420 per hour. If the bible is literally true as many Christians believe, then there is no other conclusion we can come to than Gentle Jesus Meek and Mild is responsible for sending 102,694 of us each day to eternal and everlasting agony.
Is this what you believe? If you do not then you cannot claim to be a Christian because you reject what Jesus himself claims in the bible.
